About Us

New Look Vision Group (“NVG”), headquartered in Montreal, Canada, is the leading provider of eye care products and services across Canada and is rapidly expanding in the United States. The Group has retail sales of optical products which can be grouped into four principal categories: (i) prescription and non-prescription eyewear, (ii) contact lenses, (iii) sunglasses, protective eyewear and reading glasses, and (iv) accessories, such as cleaning products for eyeglasses and contact lenses. The Group’s network of stores totals 470 locations, consisting of 413 locations in Canada and 57 in the United States. Prescription lenses are manufactured at the company’s central manufacturing and distribution facility located in Montreal.

Under the current leadership team, NVG has achieved outstanding operating and financial success. Since 2013 NVG’s store network has increased from 70 to 470 locations, primarily by way of acquisition, and its enterprise value has increased by over 10x, from approximately $100 million to in excess of $1 billion. This has resulted in significant value creation for its shareholders. During this same period, significant investments have been made in the existing store network, new stores, the laboratory, warehouse and distribution centre.

NVG was a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Stock exchange until its privatization in May 2021. The principal shareholders of NVG following the privatization transaction are FFL Partners (“FFL”), a San Francisco based private equity firm and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (“CDPQ”). FFL has a solid track record of investing in and building leading eye care and optical retail business, including Eyemart Express, an optical retailer in the United States and EyeCare Partners, one of the leading vision care providers in the United States and former portfolio company of FFL. FFL is expected to significantly contribute its past experience and expertise in the optical space to NVG’s successful expansion in the United States market. CDPQ is a strong supporter of Quebec based companies and is an investor in NVG for the long-term. CDPQ’s diverse presence in the health care (including eye care) services sector includes a previous investment in NVG in 2019. More importantly, CDPQ’s involvement serves as an anchor to NVG’s Quebec roots and helps to ensure NVG’s future in Quebec.

In 2022, New Look Vision Group has been awarded the prestigious “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” status after a thorough audit and selection process conducted by Deloitte Canada.
